Bruce Anderson is a Dallas based strategic planner and business advisor with deep expertise in equine performance sports.
Anderson has over 30-years’ marketing, sales management and operations experience. He was an owner of two Top 10 Southwest ad agencies managing operations and directing business development and client service activities. He also was EVP worldwide sales and marketing for the world’s leading provider of still and motion stock photography; was chief marketing officer of a Top 10 U.S. Internet firm; and chief strategy officer of the nation’s largest independent TV sports production and program development company.
Anderson has been a trusted C-level advisor to over 70 marketers in 18 industries. He’s had P&L responsibility in companies with up to $150 million in global revenue and led sales forces of up to 325 professionals. He’s played a key role in growing private and public businesses by increasing revenue from existing customers, attracting new customers, expanding geographically, introducing new products and services, and making strategic acquisitions.
Anderson has over 17-years’ experience in Thoroughbred and American Quarter Horse racing marketing serving Remington Park, Thistledown and Louisiana Downs, Lone Star Park, AQHA, NTRA and Winnercomm and its horse racing clients. He also has worked extensively with the National Cutting Horse Association for the past 10 years guiding strategic planning efforts underpinning the organization’s growth in membership and revenue and its advancements in sponsorships, product development and member services.
Anderson played a key role in the conception and implementation of several nationally-acclaimed advertising and marketing programs promoting horse racing including “Let your heart race”, “Chasing Lady Luck”, “Hoof Pounding. Heart Pounding.” and “Everyone’s All-American”. He has direct experience in fan education and employee training efforts for the horse racing industry. He worked closely with Lone Star Park and NTRA in the conception and implementation of the inaugural NTRA All-Star Jockey Championship. He has served as an expert witness providing professional opinions before Administrative Law judges considering racing issues in Texas.
Anderson also has been a panelist at the Symposium on Racing & Gaming and a guest professor for the Marketing and Media Relations class at the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program. Anderson’s background includes extensive experience with leading equine associations plus subscription based service providers focused on customer acquisition and retention and revenue and profit growth from the existing customer base. He also has considerable experience in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry with an emphasis on seasonal attractions.
He is an expert in assembling and directing teams in the completion of engagements of all sizes. He has extensive connections with supremely talented resources in every component of the marketing communications supply chain. He also has 14-years’ Internet consulting experience leading interactive teams and providing strategic, marketing and creative guidance on a wide range of Internet projects.
