I was born in Louisville, on Derby Day, in the Year of the Horse. Fact is, I came out of the gate, just about the time that the horses did. I was brought up in Lexington, KY, and I spent my teen years in Bowling Green. I am a telecommunications engineer, and I worked the video systems at Dueling Grounds (now Kentucky Downs), in 1996.
I do a lot of overseas work, and unhappily, the Sport of Kings has not yet made an appearance in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
I cherish horse racing. My grandfather owned a couple of bottom-end claimers, and raced them at Charles Town, back in the 1960's.
I keep up with the sport, on the internet, and in various forums.
