A life long horse enthusiast, as an empty nester, I started collecting TB mares and thus bred them with a focus on the NY breeders program. This was to be an opportunity to provide a second life for the retired racers, while giving them a secure home; in essence, our form of rescue. Fortunately my husband has been a long time supporter of my venture providing a lot of the manual sweat to care for them. Since our timing was impeccable by getting into this as the market declined, instead of selling out first homebreds, we have sent them for training. We are proud to say that our first filly, Sista'tariat had a strong third (photo) in her first race last fall. She is aimed for the track again after taking the winter off.
A couple of our other former race mares are due to foal shortly, this year with foals by Eltish. While our mares have strong family lines, they may not be the current blacktype frenzy, but they are well bred mares of race families and are healthy and quite content at our farm. And of course, we are always open to selling a race filly of mare and foal with a reasonable offer, and to an approved home.
